Genesis Women’s Shelter & Support exists to help women and children live abuse-free lives. From our emergency shelter, to our counseling services available at our Outreach office, we have geared our services to provide women with the help and guidance they need most.

Emily’s Place Transitional Housing for Women

Emily's Place is not a shelter, which typical allows women to stay for 30 - 90 days. Rather, it is a transformational housing ministry based on a 24 month stay commitment which promotes stability and wise choices. 

The transformational program includes counseling, addictions recovery, vocational assistance, life skills development and spiritual nurturing--all within a structured environment of 24/7 live-in staff who are dedicated to offering the support and accountability needed to transition from a difficult past into a bright future.

transitional housing, support services,

and partnering with stakeholders to raise awareness of domestic violence in our community.

How we can help.

At Brighter Tomorrows our primary goal is to provide emergency safe shelter where survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault can begin healing. Our services are provided free of charge and confidential regardless of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation or age to both shelter residents and non-shelter residents.  Services are offered in English and Spanish.

Emergency safe shelters are staffed 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Case management at the emergency safe shelters, the Resource and Counseling Center and Transitional Housing Program services are provided during regular business hours; Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm.

Brighter Tomorrows staff can assist survivors with obtaining permenant safe housing, legal aid, child care, clothing, enrolling children in school, obtaining school supplies, job readiness, budgeting, and life skills.

Our Mission at the Miracle House Foundation

To end homelessness for women with substance abuse disorders by providing transitional recovery residences with a structured, stable, sober, and empowering environment.

We are here to support our residents in establishing, practicing and maintaining a recovery oriented lifestyle.

The Miracle House Foundation is a 501(c) 3 organization and was founded in 2008 by Dawn Granger. We believe in the 12-Step process of recovery. Our specialized recovery program meets the specific needs of each individual.

Our focus is not only on helping our women maintain and strengthen their recovery, but also in becoming productive members of a community.

Our graduates leave The Miracle House Foundation with a strong foundation in the recovery community and a clear understanding of the skills that are needed to live productive lives.

Emergency shelter for women in life-threatening situations, for up to 3 months, average stay is 30 days. Transitional housing for up to 1 year, average stay is 6 months.  Services are available to women and their children, who have completed the emergency shelter program but need additional time to complete their life plan or job training.

When you think about everything that goes into a survivor of domestic violence thriving on their own- enough money saved for a deposit on a house or apartment, a stable job earning enough to make ends meet, transportation to get herself and her kids to/from work and school, and a support system to help her through it- 30 days in emergency shelter is just not enough.

That is where our new program comes in! We know that for many survivors of family violence, for their life apart from their abuser to be sustainable they need more time to build a foundation. After exiting our emergency shelter, clients can now move in to their very own apartment thanks to our Transitional Housing program! We are able to help victims of sexual and domestic violence secure safe housing options as they transition out of the emergency shelter, flee from an abusive home or are recovering from the financial abuse that 98% of victims of domestic violence experience. The transitional housing program provides safe housing combined with comprehensive services to assist victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in their path to independence and emotional well-being.
